Default NHL Playoffs!

Playoffs are finally here. Looking forward to the Boston/Toronto rematch from last year. As always, going to be following the Pens/Islanders series closely.

What teams you rooting for, or against? How about players?

Lanny! From Hanna, Alberta. I've driven thru Hanna many times with the wife and kids, on the way to the in-laws farm in rural Sask.

Had this on the other NHL thread here, so pasting to the updated playoff thread.

"Playoffs begin. Flames vs. Avs. Big day, in Calgary!

"As for the Isles - my brother's team, growing up in NY - they are well coached by Trotz. If they get good goaltending, they could be a problem. Ditto the 'Canes. No one's touching the Bolts, though. And I see the Bruins taking out the Leafs, with minimal difficulty.

"I have a good vibe, about my Flames."

Pens/Isles game 1 has been in the Islanders' favor for the most part but now it's going to sudden death OT. The Pens forced OT with a skittering puck during 6 on 5 (Sully pulled Murray for the extra attacker.)

Ugh, Game over. Isles win 4-3. No goalie interference and the shot was onside.

Thumbs up shark Attack!

Vegas was dominated last night...Dominated! Fleury showed early quickness , but soon the sharks went up high at his shoulder level and he had no answer.

Yeah, tough loss for our Pens last night. Hope they come back to even the series. But it was good to see the Sharks dominate Vegas in their Game 1.

When I saw Tampa Bay up 3-0 in the first period I thought it would be a sweep (before that I thought 5 games). If Bobrovsky can steal a couple of games we may have a series.

Given the way the Jets have played the past couple of weeks and the way the Blues/Binnington have played I think the Blues will take that one. Binnington has been amazing and he's the reason the Blues made the playoffs.

Bruins/Maple Leafs tonight!

Boston down 1-0 and Pittsburgh down 2-0. Not a good start to the playoffs for my teams.

How about Tampa Bay losing both games at home? I wonder if Kucherov will be suspended?

Way back in the wayback Lanny McDonald gave the old Colorado Rockies about the only dose of credibility they ever had after they got him and Joel Quenneville from the Leafs for Wilf "The Stick" Paiement and some other guy.

The Avs looked pretty good for a couple of periods against the Flames but they are overmatched. Word is that Hobey Baker winner Cale Makar from UMass may join the team after the NCAA Final Four Championship. Avs fans are encouraged by the blossoming of Makar plus owning Ottawa's #1 pick.

Yeah, Kadri is getting a suspension but the guy he hit didn't get it for the knee on knee he did to Kadri earlier and the cheap shot on Marleau, it's why I don't like the Bruins.
