Just want to mention that I found even cheaper ones.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3295...c-081b5d812087 Reviews from China websites seem good. It's priced far more affordable than the branded systems! |

That looks like a different 2.4GHz system. The reason the system we are discussing is so attractive is that it is a decent quality system that operates in the 5.8GHz band where it is free from common 2.4GHz WiFi interference. |

New Carvin 5.8GHz wireless guitar system
I looked and Ali Express does have two 5.8 GHz wireless systems though. They look different though and neither is less than what I paid for the unbranded Carvin. I wouldn’t be surprised if they both aren’t decent. It is the crowded 2.4GHz band that is the problem, not Chinese design and construction quality.

I'd really love to give these a try. There are multiple units on eBay all around $70 but I wonder, could these possibly be seconds with flaws? Most if not all don't allow returns, but still, at that low price, it might be worth a shot.

I’m very happy with mine. At this point I’m sure the Carvin folks just went through a bunch of cheap Chinese wireless, found the one they liked best, and rebranded it. |

Now I wish I could find something this simple for my old SM58 to go wireless.

The Chinese sellers usually care a lot about their feedback ratings. I would wouldn't worry about them cheating you. It is a great product!

I received mine today, a Chinese unbranded product but sold by a Kentucky-based seller and it works wonderfully.
A question: The package included several pieces of double-sided tape and one of velcro. Does anyone have an idea to the intended use for these? I can imagine the velcro being used on the transmitter to create a place to park it when not in use.

I used an unbranded version of the 5.8GHz system for the first time last night. Very happy with it. Flawless, as far as I could tell.
Here's the one I used: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KW25CYP The video is random mobile phone clips, so take that for what it is, but here's the system in action:

These systems look impressive, but what pickups are you using them with? Both active and passive?

Line6 G10S
My only experiences are with a Sampson (which I sold) and my current G10S by Line6 (the latest version). I am VERY happy with this one... I compared it to a fairly expensive cable (Spectraflex) and the G10S produced a clearer signal. I did a review/demo on it if interested.

The beauty of this 5.8GHz system is that the receiver is just a plug in your amp or PA. This for factor means that there is no need for things like a shelf, a power adapter, cables, etc.
That and the complete lack of interference from local wifi. |

I'm trying out the new Line6 G10S system, and that one says not to use it near WiFi, which means you use it where exactly in the modern world? There are around a dozen WiFi signals that show up at my house for example. The G10S seems to "overpower" them when I use its auto channel function and keep the receiver quite near to me, but across the room (not an auditorium, a small room) there are annoying drop outs.

I just bought an unbranded system off eBay and it works on both the passive and active pickups in guitars.

I have used the Behringer XR series mixers quite a bit for live sound. Much of this was in hotel ballrooms. What I found was that the 2.5GHz range was packed full of activity and all but useless during events, but the 5GHz was almost completely free. Yes, there was WiFi there, but it was consistently very little traffic. The same thing with high school auditoriums. The absolute worst case was when one or more people decided to live stream a show over the local WiFi. I would be kicked of the the system completely. It was utterly terrifying! All those problems went away completely when I bought a little Apple Airport Express and started using the 5GHz band. You probably aren’t going to have a problem at all in in a rural area, or a regular bar, community center etc.. What will bring a 2.4GHz system to it’s knees is a downtown club, anything near an apartment building, a school facility etc.. any situation where there is a lot of WiFi activity. For now at least, the 5GHz band is a lot less used. By the way, this is a 5.8GHz system. Maybe someone knows better than me, but I don’t believe it conflicts with the 5GHz range. |
