Default New Carvin 5.8GHz wireless guitar system

What interests me about this system is that it like the small 2.4GHz systems, but instead operates in the far less crowded 5.8GHz range. Plus it is on sale...

Putting aside the guitar line they spun off and AFAIK remained alive, they came back fairly quickly with smaller stuff like the above, though obviously this wireless setup is new. Interesting they have some smaller audio projection like studio monitors. But no sign of the fabled AG200/300.

The price seems good - but I can’t find any reviews of it anywhere - and I need to replace my g10 -

I am very leery of Carvin.

I have some Carvin gear, and a friend/business partner has a TON. His has ALL gone to carp and they have no Service, never really did. He's had a LOT of problems and is ready to just dump it all and move on. They can simply fold up whenever they want (again) and keep your money.

Granted, my AG100D has been a good rig, and my bass rig, an R1000 with the 4;10 red eye has been fine, but if a problem comes up I know I'm on my own.

It looks like this is just a rebranded version of this:

I still own a lot of Carvin gear, with no issues. When the families split, the audio side had going out of business sales. No longer having a warehouse showroom to test out their gear, I'm leery of their new products

That one is 2.4GHz though. It will compete with local wifi for bandwidth. The one I liked to is 5.8 GHz.

Default re: New Carvin 5.8GHz wireless guitar system

Just bought a Carvin WG5 Wireless Guitar System. First system I've found that works perfectly with my Ovation active acoustic electric. Even Ovation says there is only a 50/50 chance the most commonly seen systems will work with their guitars (begs the question.....why??). It is an extremely easy to use system. And construction wise, seems of very high quality. It is on sale now, costs a bit more than the usually seen similar items, but so far I find it very worth the price I paid.

After seeing a few of these posts I picked up this one from Amazon on a whim https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Looks very similar from the pictures also 5.8 so far in at home use it has been working perfectly with my Yamaha slg200n, Emerald x7 with Schatten artist and my Yamaha SA2200.

I took a chance and ordered an unbranded Carvin 5.8GHz system off eBay for about $70. It just came today. I tried it for a few minutes before hooking it up to a charger. Sounds like a cable. Certainly looks like the Carvin.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Carvin unit is built by someone else and then branded and sold by them. Doesn't make it any less of a unit, but this happens a often with a lot of products.

Default New Carvin 5.8GHz wireless guitar system

These systems are available from many vendors from unbranded to branded (multiple brand names) from $70 to $150+. I’m guessing that they are manufactured by one company and marketed to multiple resale sources.
