Default luthiers with in-stock guitars?

I have custom-ordered in the past...

I'm wondering which builders (if any) have guitars in-stock?

Thx!

I'll have a couple soon. I'm working on a two spec builds for Healdsburg that will be done soon. One's an Arena OM with an Adirondack spruce top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides. The other is a Baritone with a Sitka spruce top and koa back and sides.

I was told not too long ago that David Webber had about 10 guitars in his shop that were unclaimed. Mostly due to a downturn in the economy and his dealers not being able to justify more stock.

Bill Wise of Charis has guitars (especially in the Performance Series) that are available if you check his page or email him.

http://charisacoustic.com/guitars.html

Steve Kinnaird and Dennis Kwasnycia generally have something on their sites too.

I'm sure there are many others out there, just stop and think of who you'd be interested in and check their site. Many have "available guitars" tabbed on their site.

I always have a few around because I hold out 1/3rd of my work for speculative builds. I also take my own work as trade-ins and give quite fair value for it. I think I own 7 at the moment.

Sorry for not being able to provide details, but this should be a great time of year to find guitars available, or soon to be available. Many luthiers are building for the Healdsburg and Montreal shows at this time. I'd suggest blasting out about 20-30 e-mails, try to contact every builder you've ever heard of and ask them. Also check Dream Guitars, Luthier's Collection, Guitar Gallery, etc. There's a lot of new stock, as well as inventory that's been sitting there due to the ecomony (not due to a shortcoming of the guitar).

I will have one Adirondack / Brazilian guitar for sale in the next couple weeks -- the finish is done and I just need to attach the neck and bridge. I am offering a 10% discount on this guitar to AGFers. The link is below as well as a photo of the guitar when it was without a finish. The Sinker Redwood guitar on that page has already been sold.

Also, I have another Adirondack / Brazilian guitar that will likely be ready in about 2 months.

Hey JMCC, I agree with Chuck - it should be a great time to shop. If you find a Healdsburg-bound guitar, you can pick it up there or after the show, and I know the luthiers love to have their show guitars sold.

For the same reason, the picking's should be good right after the shows.

I have to mention that Dennis Kwasnychia built a beautiful couple of guitars with input from AGFrs some time back, and still has (last I heard) this really nice mahogany / cedar: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=190010

If I didn't have builds scheduled already I'd be all over that one.

Best,

Phil

Have you looked in the Marketplace? http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...splay.php?f=35

Steve Kinnaird has a nice looking OM in there. http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=207824

I've got a parlor available at Mandolin Brothers that's also listed in Marketplace. http://www.mandoweb.com/Instruments/2351.aspx

I believe there are several more posted there too.

Tim and Mary McKnight sometimes have a few to pick from. A couple years ago I walked into their living room and got stuck to an OMD. It followed me home

I have a spec Honduras Mahogany/Sitka dread about 80% finished.

Here's a link to the build thread.

Ouch! This thread is giving me a significant GAS induced itch that I really can't afford to scratch right now. Fun to contemplate, though.
