Default "Shenandoah" arrangement on a Baranik JX

Arranged this for a wedding that's coming up...beautiful, beautiful song. Hard to top Doug Young's arrangement, which is think is in DADGAD. For this I decided to work off of Sissell Kyrkjebo's version...which is in D#, but I eventually kept in in standard Drop D. if you're a fan of this tune I think her version is easily the best, and deserves a listen, I got a little choked up playing along to the first few passes.

May need to shave off 10 or 15 seconds since I didn't realize until after recording that 1:03 is potentially a long, slow walk for the bride and her dad

Loving this Baranik JX in Carpathian and Indian rosewood. Very fundamental-sounding as far as modern rosewood guitars go, love the clarity!

Have no clue at the moment, sent this to the bride-to-be and asked her if she thought it would fit her venue. Hoping to hear back soon!

Absolutely beautiful, Dustin! That's one of my favorite tunes, and you played it wonderfully. Thanks for the heads up on her version! I wasn't familiar!

Beautiful! I’ve loved that melody since we sang it in high school chorus—which was more than a few years ago👍

A lovely tune and you did a great job arranging it. If I was the bride I’d slow down my walk so I had time to listen to it, whatever it’s length! lol Congratulations.

Very beautiful, Dustin!!!
I did a 12 string instrumental for a wedding once......a nephew and his bride. It was about 1:50 and seemed to match well from the rehearsal.
On the actual day, things were a little different and I had to improvise a bit to time the song to the moment they hit the alter. It helps to have a clear view of the whole walkway so thing can adjust as might be needed.
Great job on this one!!!
Best
Fred

Tried to make it sort of a slow march, may need to just trim a bit

Thanks Fred, I’ve learned with weddings that improvisation is always a constant,

Thanks Glenn, I bet you’d do a wonderful job on it if you haven’t already.
