Default Ukraine

This isn’t a political post, it’s personal for this family. This time 6 years ago, we were getting ready to go to Kyiv for a week to meet our future son, for the first time and see our two future daughters again for the first time in several months. Just a few months later, Ukraine would have a permanent place in our hearts as we would adopt our 3 children from there and start our lives as an American/Ukrainian family. We lived there for 9 weeks total and in that time we met and became friends/family with lots of wonderful people! A fiercely proud of their country group of people! We’re heartbroken today to think that we’ll probably never get to go back there again! Here is our “GOTCHA” day in court!

it isn't political, it's personal for all of us. I spent time in Russia working with Russians after the end of the Soviet Union. They were wonderful people. I hope your friends are safe.

What an amazingly touching story. A thousand blessings to you, your wife, and your beautiful family. It is people like you who make this world worth living in.

Thank you so much. I have a few fellow teachers from the Ukraine who are treasured colleagues of mine.

All the Best,
Scott

My son and DIL went to Ukraine in 2018 on a mission trip. They worked at an orphanage in the southern part of the country making repairs, bringing in supplies, etc.

Prayers to the people of Ukraine.

I've got several friends from the Ukraine who are sitting on pins and needles, worrying about family right now.

Our kids spent 2 years in an orphanage, outside of Kyiv. They literally lived in #€££ on earth while with their parents and the government finally took them away from them. They were blessed, beyond measure to be in the orphanage that they were in. It was a small orphanage with around 20 kids and Nicholi, the overseer loved those kids like they were his own. They didn’t have much, but he did the best he could with what he had.

You’re a beautiful family, Tn. The current events in Ukraine must be difficult for you all.

My grandparents came from part of Russia that is now part of the Ukraine. I guess that also makes me a Ukrainian American...

Always good to remember the suffering that can result from actions taken.

Praying for the countless innocent people that are facing the threat of harm.

And always good to hear or read about actions that reduce suffering and bring happiness. Yours is such a story, TNFiddler. Blessings to you and yours.
