Default Audacity Reverb settings

I found these on the web the other day

Room Size 95
Pre delay 20
Reverberance 55
Damp 50
Tone low 55
Tone high 0
Wet gain -1
Stereo Width 75

And a little bit stronger

Room Size 100
Pre delay 30
Reverberance 60
Damp 50
Tone low 50
Tone high 80
Wet gain -1
Stereo Width 90

I like the first one better than the second but maybe something in between would be good too.

Thanks for that, Barry. I gave the first one a try and I like it.

The Audacity reverb pretty much sucks. Look for some plugins, free or paid.

So much for my personal satisfaction, lol. Any particular recommendations? What criteria determines how one is better than the next? Ease of use? Is there some subtle or overt tone/qualities that my peasant ears can't hear? (Lol).

It's not subtle.

For example some free ones: https://music.tutsplus.com/articles/...rock--audio-35

Might get some more ideas from an Audacity forum.

In general, badly designed reverbs have a metallic sound, from what I've heard.

When ric-slo says that the differences between good and bad reverbs aren't subtle, I agree, once the listener knows what to listen for.
