Talking New to Nylon & NGD

Been here on the forum a long time. Got my first nylon string yesterday! Honestly, dont frequent the forum nylon section ever. A week or so ago I just happened to pluck a nylon in a GC out of boredom. I was inspired recently by a new release by a band named "Burlap to Cashmere". Lots of nylon based music. I dont know how I landed on the model that I found, but when I played it I knew it was special. The rosewood and cedar, the full, resonant tone, the guitar: a Cordoba C7. More than I wanted to spend and not really in the market for a nylon, but yesterday on the lunch hour, a co-worker was trading some gear and I wandered in the acoustic room to find it marked down...what? $200? Lucky day, great timing...Sold! Plastic run, great padded gig bag, receipt. Done. Well not quite. On the way out the door by the gear checking guy says.."um we made mistake, the tag was for C5". Scramble ensues, C5 brought out-me saying No, not the tone I "bought". Manager comes out and says you're leaving with this C7. Nice! Looking forward to Christmas tunes, hymnsongs and anything done with a classical.

If I was forced to have only one guitar I'm pretty certain it would be my classical. A nice classical guitar is a lovely thing.

Good nails on the right hand and good right hand technique make a world of difference on classical guitars, by the way. Look into this, and experiment.

And have fun! Congrats.

Congrats DMZ. A classical does add a differnet flare to the guitar stable. Enjoy!

Thanks all! Yeah, the lead player and harmony singer(cousin to the lead singer) was in a red-light run car accident and was beaten nearly to death. Coma, face reconstruction, etc. 10 years later, they release their 2nd album which is a very poetic, intentionally-written (according to the interview)Simon and & Garfunkel, Van Morrison, Cat Stevens-vibe. Anyone could listen to this album. Quickly has become my recent favorite, in a musical sea of muck. Here are some youtubers:

And the pics. Aesthetically speaking, I really like the binding, flamed neck and wood tuner buttons with the 2 color engraved tuners. Fit and finish is very nice all over. The tone equals the "pretty".
