Like it...a lot!
Where'd you come up with the story/title? I'm asking because...if you note my avatar...it's an "Air Guitar" and I fly it regularly!

Ah, "air guitar" - that is nice! I did see your avatar now and then on the forum, of course - but never realized it was a kite til I see it this big. How big is that thing for real? This was the first time I flew a kite again in years... I can see it becoming a bit of a hobby, it's lots of fun. And so many different kinds out there than when I was little, it seems.
I got the title last April, actually. I was working on words for another song and wanted to put something with "early" and "late" that didn't have an obvious meaning to them. Came up with some combinations, but the "early kites" I still remembered and used it for this song now. It was kind of an excercise I read in a book - put words together that aren't really related and see if it comes up with a new idea/feeling for something. And thanks very much for listening! |

Another good one and fun to listen to. Nice tight use of instrumentation.

Very nice! I like the bent string. Very melodic. It was also a very good recording.

Love the tune, playing and everything about it.
I did not notice much harshness in vocals, but if your levels are well below red but still sounds harsh then it could be that you've recorded your vocals too hot (usually little red clipping indicator while you recording would tell you that). But honestly I did not hear it on the headphones.

-you guys are too good at guitar - wow guitar sound is wowing me -perc beat is a little stock; or not the beat, but the sound. I know this is something that all of us home recorder people sturgggle with -are you female? i awlays thought you were a guy for some reason. - I can see this being used in a commercial; im serious you should pursue this - this is the first song of yours ive heard this is awesome. - the lyrics "sing good" no awkward words thumbs up

Hey, thanks very much for the kind words!
Quote:
I actually just did ruin a recording tonight I was kind of happy with because I had the gain too high and it was "too hot" - good advice and I will pay more attention (I just wanted to try a different setting on my ZoomH2, but will always use mid-gain from now on!). Quote:
I am a guy, but my wife sings this stuff. I did spend kind of a lot of time trying to get the words to flow - my wife often complains that it's hard to sing with too many words, so I tried to keep it a little simple. Probably took three hours to figure out how to keep it flowing ok. Yes, the keyboard drums... I play them myself (each key is a different sound), but I agree that they sound pretty "midi". The piano too, would love a better, more realistic one (but then I'd spend all my time playing it...). If I keep doing more songs with drums and things, I might look into better .wav samples - seems like a lot of work to put it all together by hand, but it would sound probably better. Thanks again for the kind words and encouragement. |
