Yea, but Matthews is off to a hot start.

How about McDavid - he had another 3 assists today. 8 points in 3 games.

Ugh. Pittsburgh is cursed by the injury but this year. I may have to break down and watch Survivor. I just know that that smug Boston Rob is going to make a Tom Brady reference though.

The Pens have certainly had a rough start to the season as per injuries. Losing Rust, Malkin, Bjugstad and Hornqvist in the first 3 games is pretty bad, but the Jets who beat the Pens last night 4-1 had lost all six of their starting defencemen from last season either via free agency (Myers, Trouba) , or injury/personal issues (Morrissey, Beaulieu, Kulikov, Byfuglien). The Pens couldn't mount an offense against what was essentially an AHL defensive unit. Other than the great Mike Lange tribute for his 45 year broadcast anniversary the game was a complete disaster.

And the torture never stops: Alex Galchenyuk goes on injured reserve with a lower body injury. So, 5 of the 12 starting forwards for the Pens are out with injuries after 3 games.

The Pens, and the Stars, have had major injury issues.

The Flames are looking for teams to trade Frolik to!

What's up with Jack Hughes and the Devils? Both are off to a poor start. Hughes has 0 points in 6 games. He was the #1 draft pick in June.

Pens beat the previously undefeated Av's 3-2 in OT for their 4th straight win. Great game! The Pens continue to roll despite all of the injuries.

Crosby is playing great.

I'm amazed at how well McDavid and Draisaitl are doing ... but not surprised with McDavid. Edmonton is winning. Hoping the wheels don't fall off.

Pens win again today, 4-2. Crosby didn't have any points but he was 12/20 on faceoffs so he did well. I didn't see the game - how did he do?

Sid looked great! Dallas was desperate for a win, and played like it was a playoff game. Sid matched the intensity that Dallas brought, and led the way to a win for his teammates with consistently outstanding two-way play. Sid's line (Guentzel in particular) had at least three grade A scoring chances set up by Sid in the game, but Khudobin came up with some incredible saves to help stop Sid's scoring streak.

Tonight the Pens face Vegas Golden Knights and former teammate Mark Andre Fleury. Should be a good one!

That should be a great game tonight. Another great game is Boston/Toronto.

McDavid / Crosby this afternoon! The two biggest stars in the NHL battle it out.

The Oil win in OT 2-1. I enjoyed the game, but no points from either McDavid or Crosby. Their two respective lines seemed to neutralize each other for most of the game. Pens dominated possession, and outshot the Oil 51-28! Mike Smith was superb in goal for the Oil. The Pens power play was terrible, and the 3-on-3 OT was some of the most exciting hockey I've seen in a long time.

I didn't see the game but was watching the scoreboard. No points for the two big stars .

Boston won again. Marchard/Pasternak are having an awesome year so far and Bergeron is doing what he does best too.

Don Cherry fired. I'll miss his sartorial splendor.

In other news, Sidney Crosby will miss the Pens road trip this weekend to New York (Rangers) and New Jersey (Devils) with a lower body injury. Team says he may be out longer.
