Default 2019 McKnight Lowlander 000 12-fret Bearclaw German Spruce/QS Pernambuco MINT!

As mentioned in my other classified listings, I'm selling my commissioned instruments to fund a grand piano for my family (and some home improvements). I was just getting to know this one, but like the others I'm selling, it mostly sits in it's case as I simply don't have time to regularly play. It's still easily in Mint condition!
Just like my Doerr Trinity in Cedar/Brazilian for sale, whoever gets this one will NOT be disappointed. This one should be a lifetime keeper!

Wow, what can be said about this one? One for the ages!
Well, when I picked it up from Tim at his shop in Morral, Ohio last June, he told me straight up this one is easily in the top three best-sounding guitars he's ever built. Absolutely beautiful Pernambuco tone, punch, and sustain for days. Loud, full-throated 12-fret tonal character. Fat trebles. Playability is spot-on.
While this guitar has a very "modern" voice, in terms of aesthetic details, I wanted to give this instrument a number of vintage-y 19th century touches. Obviously the gorgeous Rodgers tuning machines are a design straight out that time period, as well as the tapered fretboard, black neck, and slotted headstock. The simple fretboard inlays are a copy of one of the very first inlay designs every used on a Martin guitar, around 1893-94. The understated multi-ply purflings add an elegant and classic touch.

Important to note that the body size is all around larger than an 000, so it has more bass and volume than a typical 000 just on account of that, but still very comfortable to play--it feels much more like an 000 than a 12 fret dread, for example.

Asking $8900 o.b.o. through PayPal. Willing to ship internationally, no CITES restrictions for Pernambuco.

Hi Paul,

Yes, I've noticed another wave of interest in Pernambuco. It's a real shame that so few people will ever get to play or hear (live) a Pernambuco guitar, because it is truly a holy grail tone wood. In my opinion, after spending time with this instrument as well as my Hippner classical guitar which also has Pernambuco back/sides, Pernambuco is THE holy grail tone wood. It is just the most perfect tonal character of anything I've ever heard, and this McKnight Lowlander just came together in such a beautiful way, tonally speaking. My selling it at this time has nothing to do with the merits of the instrument, I can tell you that! Someone is going to be very pleased with this, and it deserves to be played!

That's one killer guitar, sadly I can only do trades since too many guitars in my house at the moment.

What a guitar. That Pernambuco set is exceptional!

It's quite a tempter but it's way too similar to my 12-fret 000 to justify, but I can surely agree that Pernambuco is wonderful and your guitar has all the ingredients.

Bump for this beauty. If I didn’t already have an amazing P guitar from Bruce Sexauer I would be all over this. Best of luck, all the best in your grand piano pursuit.

Well, first you'd have to see if Tim has another set of true Brazilian Pernambuco (Caesalpinia echinata) last I knew he only had the set that he used on this guitar, so...there's that! That alone adds long-term value here, and only a literal handful of luthiers have any at all, let alone a quartersawn and high quality set like that used on this guitar. IF this guitar COULD be replaced, it would be $10,892 based on current pricing for McKnight Guitars and Rodgers Tuners. And that's basically what I paid for it, I didn't get any secret discounts!

Any videos with audio or straight audio of this beautiful guitar being played, so we can understand what you are talking about?

Glad you asked--I'm in the process of having a video made. Might be a few days.

So this beauty is now listed with Cedar Rock Studio, a proud AGF sponsor. You can now check out their very high quality video demos of my McKnight and Doerr Trinity guitars here:https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=590406
