Default ~ SOLD ~ 1965 FENDER MUSTANG, WHITE finish, VERY VIBEY Vintage Fender

CLICK photos to ENLARGE

~ SOLD ~ SOLD ~ SOLD ~ SOLD ~ SOLD ~ SOLD ~ SOLD ~ SOLD ~

An All-ORIGINAL PRE-CBS Late 1965 Fender Mustang. This is a Full Scale, 24” Mustang.
The Original White DuPont Lacquer finish has
yellowed nicely over the years and has a really nice vintage vibe.
The guitar shows the normal signs of wear, tear and usage for a 55 year old Fender that was played.
The back of the neck has worn smooth and feels good. The frets are original but still working well.
The guitar has great low action and the fingerboard is still Brazilian Rosewood too.

Both of the pickups are working correctly and the electronics are also original and all functional.
The Pots are dated the 42nd Week of 1965 and the Tremolo arm is still in tact too.
The Original Case is still present but worse for wear. The center latch is missing and the right side lock
has been replaced, however, the case is still working!

This is a very nice and usable Vintage Fender guitar that won’t break the bank and If it helps anyone,
I would consider a Deposit and Lay-Away, the Terms to be discussed.
I have FAR to many instruments and this guitar is simply not getting used and someone should get to enjoy it.

~ SOLD ~

Fender was sold to CBS on 1/5/65... a late '65 is a CBS period instrument, though in that transitional phase where many of the parts came from the pre-CBS era, so likely not too different (unfamiliar w/ Mustang history though).

That said, super lovely instrument, absolutely killer patina. GLWTS!

In a strictly technical sense, a contract to purchase Fender did occur in the early part of 1965, but there was a transitional period that followed.
During this transitional period, the way Fender guitars are viewed and described is more by "features."
This guitar retains all of the Pre-CBS features, especially the Slab Neck fingerboard construction, Slab body design, Dupont lacquer finish and this one has a left-over Brazilian Fingerboard too.
The major features changed when the CBS regime eventually took over production and the purchasing of materials, the early materials were running out by the mid to end of 1965/66
and it is then the instruments and manufacturing techniques underwent big changes.
So in general, this guitar is being described as Pre-CBS by "features," thanks for commenting.
