A mirror works just as well with an air guitar.

I've been playing since 1964. I've never played in front of a mirror.

There is just one way to hold a guitar and that is in the position that feels most comfortable to ..….. You.

You’ll get feedback eventually but you may have to play until a little past sunrise.

Recording with a smartphone and watching it back is less distracting and can be more revealing. And, it tells you how you sound, so when you fix how you look, you'll be able to tell if that's making you sound better or worse . (Changing how I sound does not make me look any different, unfortunately, though on a good [sounding] day there are less pained looks )

I think using a television may be more useful.
In a mirror, everything is backwards, I think too, it would be a distraction. A television would help you not look at your hands and provide a distraction that is good, get your instincts working. Works for me. MGF |
