Default Volume boost pedal for gigs

Once upon a time I had a Fishman Tonedeq that had a boost pedal. I found it handy to get a volume boost when I went from a strumming song to a finger style sound.

Is there a simple pedal out there that just does that?

BOSS GE-7 pedal has done the job for me perfectly for decades. Up to a 15db volume boost!

Bulletproof too.

A simple volume pedal will do this for you. Set it half way down for strumming and press down for picking. More sophisticated ones will let you set e minimum volume that is not silent - you may prefer this route....

MXR Micro Amp is my go-to for exactly this purpose. One knob & the foot switch; basically a clean boost up to about 12 o'clock one the knob, then adds just a bit of hair beyond that. Simple, inexpensive, built like a tank, and when it's off you won't know it's there.

I like a volume pedal that has a minimum volume knob. You can boost a little or allot. Then go right back to where you were.

Your dynamics are much more effective when you turn down, and the low volume goes back to where it began.

You can get this out of a boost pedal. Only the boost will be a set level too.

For my acoustic board, I use a Morley Li'l Alligator

The volume control on my Ultratonic conversion works fine for this.

Ive used several methods
over the years.
from leaning into a mic
to the grace felix. ive also
added gain blocks to
modelers like the hx stomp.
Its all about getting the right
amount of boost.
