Default Crack or no?

This is a close up of a mando I'm considering. The finish crazing following the grain lines from that ding in the finish gives me a bit of pause.

Seller says it's not a crack.

Yep... that's the problem.

It's the grain telegraphing through the finish which happens with spruce as the finish shrinks. The area that looks like a crack is actually over and glued to the lining there, making a crack extremely unlikely.

The shiny part of the finish looks like it was too low to get caught by the sanding block when the finish was knocked down to a satin or matt sheen. The dimpling looks like the spruce got bumped by something before the finish was leveled. I would say there's no structural concern there at all, purely cosmetic.

Would agree with RoyBoy that a crack in that location is unlikely. It would take quite a blow and I wonder if such a hit might also fracture the side, knock a brace loose, or compress the linings underneath, etc.. I'd be inclined to take a mirror and see what it looks like on the inside. If you're losing sleep, you might also ask the seller about getting it assessed by a competent repairman. Does he sellers price take into account the damage? IF it is a crack, given the location, I don't think it's going anywhere, so if there is no other damage, I'm not sure if it matters whether it is a check or a crack - if the price is right. Of course this is all spectulative and others may have differing opinions.
