The fighter still remains (The Boxer revisited)
A while ago I watched and listened to Glennwillow's rendition of 'The Boxer'. For years I did not know how to play the intro (just skipped it) and then there was Glenn with his elegant interpretation of the original. His roll-offs which sounded so logical made me think that on that basis an even more exact way of playing the intro should possible. So I started listening over and over again to the original recording from the Sixties and figured it out in Glen's roll-off manner. Et voilà, it worked! Thank you, Glenn . Once I mastered the intro I could not resist the temptation to record the song. This is my cover of the unforgettable classic: The Boxer revisited. Supported by my Vocalist Live3 harmonizer and Ortega Annalog stompbox.

That was awesome. Very nice singing and playing. I enjoyed the harmonica too. I’ve always wanted to learn this song but never had the chance to sit down and try. Great job.

Really well done and excellent use of your harmonizer. You have it dialed in perfectly!
Good work. Do another.

Thank you for the compliment. This summer, on vacation in Scotland, I heard someone play an intro to this song on harmonica. I liked the idea and tried blues harp on the interlude. That worked even better.

Thank you, Chickee, for your nice comment. Dialing in the harmonizer is one thing, trying to sing in perfect pitch is sometimes so hard. Since the harmonizer is purely mechanical it blows up the slightest miss.
