Default New Emerald color option

I just noticed that Emerald has added purple as a standard option to their 3D Builder.

I know they had some difficulty with blending colors in the past. For example my vibrant weave X30, which was supposed to be teal/turquoise and came out in an even more stunning (and rather appropriate) emerald green.

Apparently they feel confident enough about creating a consistent purple blend now to add it to the builder.
And here's hoping for more standard colors. Teal anyone?

Well spotted! Purple looks great in the standard weave - it’s more of a plum colour, assuming the builder is showing a good rendition of it. It looks especially good with gold hardware.

The vibrant weave version is a bit loud for my tastes, but I’m sure it will be popular. Maybe teal will be next?

I recall Alistair saying in one of his videos that they'd experimented with purple. In fact, here is an example of an X10 from 2014. Nice to see they've made it a standard now.

I have a custom order Teal Balor bass I got 3 years ago - they just mixed blue and green half and half. I'll find some pics.

I plan to order another in Teal, an X30 at least.

Still makes me Is it Grue or Bleen? hehe

Purple isn't my cup of tea, but I imagine Prince fans will celebrate. However, when a company is as innovative as Emerald, I appreciate that there will be hits and misses on the personal customer level so there is that. FWIW I like bholder's shade of green more than Emerald's...

Lol - that is definitely NOT teal. You know how I know? Because I absolutely HATE teal. And I rather LIKE that!

Also, for a change, I much prefer the color under 'normal' lighting (your photo) compared to the Emerald photos!

Thanks, I guess. Yeah, my pic shows the blueish more than theirs. If it's not teal, what is it, turquoise? I was never that good with all of then fancy "in between" color names haha.

That seems to be the same color as my X30. And if it is anything like mine I bet those pictures don't do it justice.

And I'm with Methos1979. Teal has more blue than that. Turquoise is a lighter shade of teal so it isn't that either.
Which is why I call this emerald green.

I agree. The standard purple looks better to my eyes, though I could see someone going for vibrant on the back and sides with a purple quilt top. However, vibrant purple is a $350 up charge.
