Broke the Emerald
Guess it's time to buy a new one.

lol - I was wondering how you broke 'the Emerald'.
I read that Emeralds now come with strings attached |

Good reason to get a bigger mug.

That's a great idea. I've been thinking about another Emerald. Might just have to have a mug accident.

I broke the handle on one of mine, and and my sister-in-law, a potter fixed it leaving no trace of the former damage...

I broke the lip on mine, holds my capo’s and tuners now and is a decoration while the Emerald has moved on to another forum members house. Very nice touch by Emerald though for sure.

Should my mug arrive intact when I get my first Emerald I won't even use it. It will become a shelf memoir- I have plenty of great coffee mugs
But yes, an excuse to get another mug for sure!

$3000 mug. I mean sheesh.
Comes with a free guitar, but the wife was thoroughly upset that this got broken. Does pottery cement actually work? I'd always be scared of the handle breaking again. |

I’d give it a try - I’ve mended things like this before, quite successfully. I don’t remember what glue I used, though. All I have to hand at the moment is Gorilla (which is too thick) and regular CA, which I wouldn’t have a lot of confidence in, so it must have been something else.
As encouragement (and a blatant mugbrag), here are my three. The most expensive mugs I’ve ever bought, but the free guitars are terrific IMG_1765.jpg

My third Emerald mug had a handle on it that seemed thinner than the others. First time my wife put it in hot water to wash it, the handle broke in a couple places. She said, "I can fix that with Sugru." Sure enough, it is much sturdier and she made the handle shape more ergonomic.
I use one of the Emerald mugs every morning. One stays in the motorhome (daily use when we're in there), the third is "back up."

My Emerald mugs sit on a shelf, safely behind glass. Thanks to a career in dentistry, my wife has carpal tunnel syndrome. I, therefore, refuse to leave the mugs out for daily use and a chance for an expensive "oops!". I must admit, David's mocha colored mug is severely tempting me to consider getting another Emerald.

Good luck with your repair. Not only am I not a potter, I'm a muggle!

That’s a 2018 model - practically vintage
