Here's a picture using your wood that I hope helps you visualize how the guitar might look.

What type of wood is this back??

MM,

If you look at the opening post in this thread by 690 he inserted a picture of the wood he's using for the back. It's a very, very nice looking piece of Brazilian. I just made a mock up of the guitar using his wood so he could get some idea of how it might look.

Bruce - nice job with that image, cool to see that beautiful slab of Braz as it will look in commando's Greenfield. That will be one amazing looking guitar when it's finished!

Well since you asked Peter....here's a little something for ya!

The Adirondack top with that cool signature Greenfield rosette, spalted with the signature purfling lines reminiscent of old school spanish classical guitars...

Another look at the straight grained, old growth, brazilian back cut for the G2 shape...

Building the neck...check out that cool reinforced carbon graphite to make it stronger and lighter...

Let the bracing begin! Old school style!

Sides are getting framed and based on the current rate she'll be boxed by the weekend and ready for binding!

Note the reinforced side inside where the kerfing lines run. There's gonna be a RIB BEVEL there!

Latest pix - she is REALLY coming along! One of the advantages of building in groups of two is the progress and attention to two at a time....very cool!

Top is going on.....

She is boxed!!

Bindings going on...
