Default Finally finished my own guitar!!

Hey all, I won a monthly giveaway from my friend and wood supplier Robert Cefalu a while back and decided to make myself a guitar. I paired the curly Claro Walnut with a set of nice colorful sinker redwood and built my x-braced concert model. It has curly walnut binding and maple/walnut purflings. his guitar has a very nice warm tone balanced by a nice sparkly top end that is perfect for my strumming and singalong style. I recorded one of my favorite David Wilcox tunes appropriately called "Guitar Shopping". Please give a listen and check out the finished pictures in my building blog.
Thanks for looking and listening, John

That top is amazing, John! I bet it won't be long until you start getting offers for it

Wow! John, that's really sweet.
That walnut just pops under finish.
You've had a bad habit lately of showing wood that I really wish I'd used.
But I'll be content knowing that it went to good hands!

Merry Christmas,

Steve

Talking

You have a great voice John.
I'm asking myself if it have something to do with voicing a lot of guitars.

Just lovely John.

The Madagascar Rosewood fingerboard sure could have fooled me, looks so much like Brazilian.

My LBC is sounding beautiful, the neck is perfect (no truss rod) after what, two years,... just tried some new strings, GHS LAURENCE JUBER LJ30L SIGNATURE CRYOGENIC BRONZE SET (sorry for the caps) and they sound excellent on the How.

Sounds like the average AGF member story

Maybe we should make this the AGF hymn.
