Default Blessed with a NGD!

I have a dear friend and him and I have been through a lot together. He is the type of person that enjoys giving gifts. He has given me a couple different things through the years and sometimes it makes me feel uncomfortable. I've asked him not to do it but it's what he likes to do. Yesterday he and the girl he's been seeing stopped by with a huge hard gun case. Before he opened it he said I had these made for you. Of course I said no, he said yes! He opened it up and it was the coolest things ever. A friend of the girl he's seeing makes them. The acoustic is a 4 string tuned to open "E". The electric is a three string tuned to open "G". I had seen them numerous places being played on the internet but never had one in my hands. Total underestimated them and what they can do. The electric sounds "huge". Ran it through my clean channel on my DC-5 and I couldn't put it down. And I'm not a good slide player. It was a gift from the heart for sure, since he knows how much I like to play. Something I can repay him back with years of music.

So cool of your friend to do. Music comes in many forms, those are neat. Have fun!

Your friend has learned there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving. I would suggest receive his gifts graciously so he gains the most happiness from his generosity.

Recently I had a friend come over with an 8 string, $150 lap steel in open D. Wow that is fun with some amp reverb and tremolo. I am now looking to get a double one in open D, and the other in G.

Enjoy your gifts.

What am I looking at? Are those lap guitars? Slide guitars? I've never seen one before. They look neat.

They look like cigar box guitars with 4 strings. Lots of people making them. Pretty cool.

I've thought about making one of these but never thought about making an electric one! Now that I've seen yours, and read your review of it, I want to do that. Perfect summer project for my 10 year old granddaughter and I. We can give it to her dad, an electric player.

Your friend really is a nice guy. He gave some business to his girlfriend's friend, which I'm sure pleased the girlfriend as well as her friend, and then took pleasure in giving a gift to you. So that's makes 4 people who got some juice out of his act of generosity and friendship. Good friend!
