Emerald X7 wood veneer - colored or plain?

That flame maple is outstanding! I appreciate all the pics and thoughts.

There are some combos I've tried that seem to me to look good. I have a photo that I can't figure out how to post on here that I copied off the Builder - in that photo, the limba doesn't look as clashy because it's somehow mellower, less bright yellow.

I'm realizing I really want a wood veneer top, so that part of the equation is decided. It may be that I can't have both the nice color and the bare wood, but I'm working on it.

Some of my wood guitars have had tops much different than the back and sides. Usually the top is pretty "blah" while the unseen back is beautiful. That makes the idea of having the "pretty" on top very appealing.

Agreed. Many of the veneers are spectacular, but the CF weave has its own charm, also.

Agreed. I have two with that CF weave and one with the veneer. All are choice instruments. I must be getting old. Where did I get those two CF weave again?
