Default Price check: 1934 Martin C-2 archtop

Hi all
Does anyone have an idea what a good condition (all original) 1934 Martin C-2 archtop would go for these days? I don't see many of them around (for sale, at least!), so I've not had much luck trying to track down recent sale prices.
Thanks in advance,
Jordan

those Martin archtops are becoming more and more rare as they are not particularly desirable as they are which makes them less expensive but are great candidates for a new flat top, turning them into something similar to an OM. The aged Brazilian rosewood b/s is the attraction.

"Valuable" but not many buyers. I can think of many other guitars I'd spend the money on first.

Yep. IIRC this was exactly how the first M-series (also called 0000 size) Martins came about

David Bromberg originally came up with the idea and had a flat-top conversion done for his own use. The idea gained popularity over time and eventually Martin started making production versions. The points made by royd are good ones that go right to the heart of why this was such a popular idea in its heyday. The C-series guitars were not very good archtops - in fact the backs were flat just like any other Martin acoustic - and simply couldn't compete with a Gibson L-5, Epiphone Emperor, or Stromberg. In essence, they were an extra large Martin with a different style of top added as an afterthought. That said, the C-series Martins were made in a body size that was not otherwise available from Nazareth until half a Century later plus the materials and workmanship were, as always, top-shelf

Default Martin C-2 archtop project/pieces sought

Looking for a Martin C-2 Archtop \project. Any condition is acceptable.

I put together a C-1 from pieces a few years ago. It's not collectable, but its a great player.

Looking to do the same with a C-2.

Default Martin F-7 Archtop sought

I said I'm looking for a C-2, but an f-7 project would be much better. Roundhole would be great!

No amount of damage, even if its in pieces is a problem.
