I pull open the blind on
Another fine morning
Cumulus Cotton against
Azure blue sky
Push open the window
The skylarks are singing
The sweet scent of jasmine
On the wind floats by

But the calm of the morning
Followed the storm of the night
We argued and fought right through to daylight
Now it’s time to take stock

Rekindle the flames
Smouldering deep in our souls

For jealousy or fear

Then together we swam right through that morning
Our laughter fuelled by a hot summer sun
That morning he taught me a lesson of nature
That a good life in this world is not easily won
