Well, I remember watching it, that Christmas, with a friend (in black and white). We loved it, and we couldn't understand all the flak that came its way.

Looking at it now, it seems patchy. On one hand it was ahead of its time, anticipating the Monty Python type of humour, and with some spectacular highlights: Walrus, Mother should know, Fool on the Hill. But I can't help feeling that a bit more editing would have improved the movie. The book/double EP album was terrific though.

I could pick any of a hundred, but I'd say Hard Days Night because it brings back memories of when it all started and the 1964 US tour.
