I had some time today to fit and rough out the neck a little.

Any updates for us, Ken? I'm ready for my pink opium . . . I mean pink ivory fix. I can't wait to see this beauty under finish - I hope it doesn't darken the tone wood too much!

Okay, here you go. I finished shaping the neck but I still have some final sanding before I apply the finish.

Hi Ken - we haven't seen an update on this guitar for a while: I hope all is well with you and with your work. I'm anxious to see how this beauty turns out. Of all the spectacular guitars being prepared for Healdsburg right now, I have to confess that this is my dream guitar! I keep buying lottery tickets so I can get this as well as the project I'm currently committed to, but no luck so far . . .

Hi SJ. All is well. She's at the finisher's. Wait, that's me. Oh well, music camp all next week and I've been working on a Brazilian satinwood jumbo parlor while the finish cures on the pink lady. It's good to have other things to do while the finish shrinks and toughens up.

Oh man! Just noticed the actual shape of that cut-away! This guitar is a real piece of eye candy. I wan't to go to Healdsburg in '15 now...Hmmmm maybe the wife will be into it since my brother in law lives in Redding and we can make a quick 3 hour drive down for it...

Well, maybe more understanding than you realize...A 3 hour drive after having initially flown in from good ol' Tejas lol. Anyway, this guitar is coming along awesome! These kind of builds are what have me bit by the "wanna-build-bad" bug in the first place...

I've been working on some other builds but I finally got some time to finish this guitar for the Healdsburg Guitar Festival. I'm pleased with the the way it turned out and my initial impressions of the voice. She's no shrinking violet. Stop by my table and tell me what you think.

I'd like to thank Burton LeGeyt for taking the time to make some pink ivory tuner buttons. They complete the design well. Here are a few quick photos. I find it hard to photograph the light European maple neck and bindings and still get close to the right color of the pink ivory which I'd say is mostly more cherry than pink on this set.
