Default My first H&D was bought today

An engineer friend of mine here in Nashville bought this guitar new in 2008 and had never really played it much. I asked him yesterday if he would ever consider selling it, he said uh,,,,maybe. We had some time so he said, "you want me to set up a mic and try it out?" I said yes! It sounded like a dream and so I began to wear him down over the hour I was there. In the end I bought it, it's a Custom 00 with an Engelman top and Indian RW back and sides. I had been wanting a 12 fret guitar for years but didn't want to invest the full retail on one. I was thinking about getting one of the Koa models from Collings but this one had the age, great condition and punchy sound I was after. Don't have a pic yet but it has what I would call a tobacco sunburst, no pick guard, with a herringbone rosette and ivory and Walnut binding.

Looking forward to seeing pics of this one, well done! H&D 12 fretters are truly sublime, warmth and clarity.

Forum rules concerning new guitars... Chapter 267, paragraph 16, sub para 4 clearly state:

"Pics or it didn't happen"

Sounds like you got a great guitar and I look forward to seeing your pictures. I had the pleasure of buying my first H&D (L-00 Crossroads) a month ago. Great guitar. I expect you'll be very happy.

Welcome to the world of H&D! I've had mine for a couple of months and it's the best sounding guitar I have ever owned.

We need Pics!!!!

Congratulations on your Huss & Dalton! I've had two and regret trading them.

Being extremely critical here!
The only thing I've noticed is that when, or if you use a capo on it, which seems silly really, it doesn't hold the strings in tune very well. I am an intonation freak probably but the Lowden, Gibson ADJ and even the Waterloo have no issues in this way. Using a regular Shubb or a Planetwave capo. Those Kysers I have never liked.
I will probably use it mainly for finger style/blues picking anyway. I'll try and get some more pics up later!
