Default Yamaha Concert Series?

Looking for a guitar to travel with, I really like the FG830, but was looking at the smaller body fg800. Does any have any experience, thoughts on the FG800?

FS is the concert designation I've played the FS-TA and I thought it sounded pretty good even without the effects turn on. But than I'm a Yamaha guy,

I have the FSX 800c ( basic version with cutaway/pickup ) & would wholeheartedly recommend it - its tone was really good to start with, I guess due to the scalloped bracing, & it just keeps getting better - plays easy too.

I had an AC3R. Nice guitar. Didn't boom acoustically but sounded good. Wasn't really much smaller than your average guitar.

Maybe check out the SCF models. They are parlor sized and travel well in their heavily padded gigbag. On board zero impact pickup (no preamp)

I have had my FS820 & FG730 for a number of years now Actually bought both the year prior to the 800 models. Both are nice guitars but in a way I wish I had known the 800's were coming out the next year.

I really prefer the FS. I am not a fan of the boominess, or size, of dreads. I like the more balanced sound of smaller bodies.

Also have an FG820-12 (twelve string) and an NTX and APX. Like them all. Guess I am a Yamaha fan.

I have an FS800 that I bought to have at the office because I’m a huge fan of my FG700 and LL16R.

The FS800 is a great little guitar with a full scale length. I prefer larger body guitars but the concert size is nice, easy to play, built well, and sounds great. And at $199 new it was not a huge risk.

I've had a FS-800 for about a month and like it a lot. For 200 bucks you can't go wrong, and the size and sound is very good for what it is. I play it more than my Gibson dread.

I absolutely love my FS-TA. I play it more than my Martins. The no-plug-in reverb sounds wonderful and can actually invoke creativity and inspiration.

I have a soft spot for the FS800; the FG has a lower bout width of 16.25” which puts it into the jumbo category whereas the FS is just shy of 15”. Very comfortable size and hard to find where I live.

The FS800 is a wonderful guitar. I traded mine up for the FS-TA. Same body and style but has the accentuator technology.

I have had my FS700s for about 3 years. It is a great little guitar. It cost me $179 on a 15% off sale. Heckuva deal. Would recommend the FS800 series without reservation.
