1951 Martin 000-28 ***SOLD***
1951 Martin 000-28 For Sale. No Trades Please.
It's come to that time in my life where I need to seriously thin the heard. So that means only one of my birth year 1951's can remain. That means someone else will have an opportunity to spend some time with this guitar that has been very good to me for over 7 years. This is one of only 96 built that year. This guitar is great for either finger picking or strumming. I bought this guitar in July of 2011 from Gary’s Classic Guitar’s in Loveland, OH (I paid $11,000 plus shipping in 2011 ! Unfortunately for me, I bought this at the peak of the Market). When purchased the guitar had two professionally repaired/stabilized cracks : one each in the upper bass & treble bouts; They do not detract from the appearance, sound or playability of the guitar. They are shown clearly in the photos. Like many vintage guitars there are some miscellaneous surface/finish blemishes on the top and other surfaces of the guitar.There are some small surface cracks that do not go all the way through the top. They are stable and have been like that since I have owned the guitar and are typical of vintage guitars of this age. I have taken pictures to show these as well. This past spring I had the neck professionally reset and a thorough checkup of the guitar by Bill Kraus(Kraus Guitars) . The reset probably could have waited but the new owner would eventually have had to have it done. The guitar also has had a new bone saddle installed and has been setup with new strings.The guitar is ready to play, well setup and needs nothing. The guitar comes with a newer hard-shell case. This guitar is an excellent example of the finest of ‘50s Martins and has no issues (other than professional repairs described or blemishes that you can see in pictures). I have posted representative pictures of the guitar and can provide more for the serious potential buyer. I also have pictures taken of the inside of the guitar. To the person who asked and whose post was deleted: The Bass response is tight and solid as you would expect from a late '40's early '50's Martin 000-28 ; you won't be disappointed in the sound of this guitar.
