You deserve a red J-45! Especially one as nice as this Gibson Custom Shop Early 60's Vintage Reissue.

75 of these were made in 2016 for a few limited retailers. It was made using all of the same materials as the early 60's J-45s, right down to the hide glue and nitrocellulose finish. It has the nice modern addition of a LR Baggs Lyric pickup (so no stressing about adding a pickup to a 50+ year old guitar).

This is an ideal guitar for someone who loves the sound and feel of the early 60s J-45s, but doesn't want to worry about gigging with a fragile, extremely valuable oldster, or who just doesn't have the additional $1,000 for a vintage instrument. It is a super nice instrument now, and will only increase in value and sound as it ages. I bought it two years ago as the second owner - the first traded it in right after he bought it for a completely different guitar, go figure - for all of the above reasons. Unfortunately, my cranky shoulder doesn't allow me to have a dreadnought as my main axe, and I lean on my smaller Martin 000-18 for gigging these days.

What I love about it:

• incredibly light. This is the lightest dreadnought I've ever owned. Even in the case, you don't feel like you're lugging around a beast.
• the neck - it really has that lovely old J-45 feel to it. I had a mid 60s J-45 for years and this was the first time I've felt that kind of neck in years. The newer off the rack J-45s just don't approach it. It is not the ultra thin neck like the 1967 J-45s either. 1-11/16" nut. Action is low, not buzzy. I had it set up when I bought it two years ago, and not since, just have changed strings and kept it clean.
• the sound - really balanced.Yes, a good loud strummer, but the highs are very sweet. It is surprising. I've played newer J-45s that just never did much for me. This one has a great sound, and as it ages and opens up with playing, I expect that to get even better.

I am selling this for a $1800 plus shipping. No trade or lowball offers, please. Even if you are lucky enough to find one for sale elsewhere, you won't see it for less than $1950, guaranteed.

So what do you get?

• Near perfect condition guitar. A few pickguard swirls, and the only non-new condition item, the finish on the back of the neck was dulled, looks like with a very very fine emery cloth, probably to make it less slippery. No cracks, nicks, holes, etc.
• Original Gibson hardshell case (perfect condition)
• Original case candy, including certificate of authenticity, Gibson key chain & pick, pickup adjuster tool, warranty card, etc (see pics).
• I'm throwing in the the leather headstock strap holder that allows you to attach a guitar strap without drilling a strap pin into the neck heel.Works like a charm
