DK, STOP with calls and emails!!! Hee, hee!

Yes Joel is very generous with his time and knowledge! Great guy to work with!

You're welcome Sean!

Yes, I had never seen one being built either - quite cool!

Well, we'll have to see (hear) if sounds as good as it looks!

This is where two way communication becomes critical. Joel will have to know what you are looking for tonally so he can voice the guitar accordingly. I'm sure you've already done this.

When he did mine, I sent him tons of sound clips. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Yes, I described quite explicitly what I am looking for tonally - I think Joel has a pretty good idea of what I want...

I'm on the wait list as well- jumbo 12er. Can't wait!

Question- what kinds of sound clips did you send? Clips from other guitars you have, or from a particular recording that you like the way the guitar sounds? Thanks!

I sent him my previous recordings so he could see my playing style and preferences. We also discussed in detail the guitars I already had and what I liked about them. We covered what lush overtones mean to me as well as bright or dark or woody. Since these words could mean so many different things to different folks, we needed to be on the same page.

Yes, tone is subjective - what appeals to me, may not appeal to the next person...
It's critical to let the builder know what you are looking for!

Tim said he wanted it to sound dull and clunky with a slight sitar-like twang, so that's what I'm going for

Joel, don't forget the bass should sound like a Bodhran, and it's got to buzz like a banshee as well...
