Last year I found myself with a unique set of logistical constraints regarding the purchase of a 000-18. Money wasn't the issue but it required a fair bit of finagling by the dealer. I probably talked to close to ten different dealers who said if they could ignore one or the other constraints, we could work out a deal. However they all said they were unable to simultaneously meet all the constraints. I had pretty much given up hope on getting my 000-18. I decided to give one more dealer a try before I gave up.

I contacted Willcutt, talked to James and explained my situation, he said he would be happy to take care of things for me. He did and I'm the proud owner of a 000-18. James went well out of his way to help me out, it was an exemplary example of above and beyond customer service.

I purchased a Martin OM21 from them last year. Easy to work with, great pricing, and very well packed for shipping. I would not hesitate to buy from them again.

I've bought 3 guitars from them. All great prices negotiated and they do a great job setting the guitars up and also a great job shipping them. Would definitely give them a try!!!

I bought a Martin D-41 Reimagined from Eric at Willcutt and I have shopped a few other guitars there. Their service, consultation is second to none! I would not hesitate to buy a guitar from Willcut. They have a great stock of instruments, a ton of knowledge, great service and great pricing.

Default Willcutt Guitars Question

Willcutt is a great dealer based on my experience. They price well, ship quickly and the guitars are in fine condition when they arrive. I’ve purchased 3 from Willcutt over the years. I think an ideal situation would be to drive there and play it first. The ones I bought didn’t go the distance with me. But that was my fault for not playing them first and being willing to return them immediately when I suspected they weren’t my ideal choice. They have a wide selection.

Again, thanks for the replies. It looks like a new Taylor will be making its way home to me, after they come out and I decide on the one. Next time I make my way to KY, I will have to check out the store. It sounds wonderful.

Lexington, home of Willcutt Guitars is an excellent city to visit, making that trip to actually play a guitar before buying, more enjoyable and family friendly. In the fall and spring you have Keeneland Racecourse, which is lovely. Year round there’s the KY Horse Park, which is also very nice. Then there’s the countryside, where you can tour the iconic horse farms that have produced KY Derby winners for decades.
Rupp Arena attracts major musical acts as well as hosting a great basketball environment.
I hope this makes the trip more attractive for those with a family. Playing the guitar will make the difference in most cases. Good luck!

Default Wilcutts

I was there this past Tuesday trying out a Pre-War International model. I live here around Lexington and and I buy a lot of stuff through them including my Custom Martin 00-18 Amertone last year. If you call there ask for James or Stan, both great folks.

Thanks again. I've contacted Willcutt, so it's very likely I will go through them.

I had a great experience with Willcutt’s recently. Eric handpicked a Martin D1A for me, and Bob set it up with my string choice—and they gave me a good price and shipped the same day.
