Default antique finish?

how would you produce an antique finish like this guitar has?
(starting from raw wood).

I was thinking of using the stewmac tinted spray lacquer from cans. Would it be possible to get a less glossy finish just by not sanding to a fine grit?

Are you referring to the scratches or the color.
The scratches are just relicing, which I personally dislike, and those are even in the wrong direction, in my mind who strums up and down the neck ?
