Default Celtic Colours International Festival 2021

25th year for the CCIF out of Cape Breton Island. If you enjoy Celtic music you will love this! 9 days of live concerts. Free on YouTube and Facebook w/replays on YT till end October. Opening show was last night and what a show! At hour 1:08 or so, you can watch the most imaginative dance and claw-hammer banjo combo (yeah, unlikely mix but go watch!) followed by stellar musicianship by Scottish super group Capercaillie.

Well worth a look. I know what I’m doing for the next few days!

This is last night’s show which might be of interest here since it’s all guitar (acoustic, mainly). It’s the CCIF’s 27th annual “Guitar Summit” featuring 4 terrific players. JP Cormier is especially interesting given what he can squeeze out of his stock Yamaha plugged in straight to a basic Fishman Loudbox. Their set starts at minute 47 or so with the introductions. Well worth a look.

What a great festival to go see. In addition to the music, it's a beautiful area to visit. The Cabot Trail drive is a must see.

Great to see J.P. Cormier playing. He lives there.

Here's one part of the video where J.P. Cormier does some nifty fingerpicking.

Great.
JP playing Gareth Pearson's Adrenaline Rush.
Jp is one heck of a player and such a humble person for sure. Nice into giving Gareth Pearson some credit also.

Gareth is a pretty special player, who is well worth checking out live when you get chance: sometimes a bit like TE on speed!!!

I watched some Lennie Gallant live yesterday. He's got a lot of energy and is an excellent performer.
