This was the correct answer.

I slackened the string and pulled it out of the bridge. I could see that the string was riding over the bone saddle at a spot that was somewhat rounded. I got out a very sharp knife and scraped it a few times to create a bit of a ramp. I reinstalled the string, and no more sizzle!
