SOLD - Taylor 612 (1997) ANOTHER Price Drop for today
Up for sale is this beautiful 1997 Taylor 612c. If you know anything about Taylor guitars, you know that this era is thought of as the "golden era", due to the design changes in 2001, and the "upgrades" that are only found in the 900 series today. This particular model (612c) was only made from 1993-1998 and is reasonably rare these days - In 1998, this model became the 612ce, with electronics included. This is the Taylor "Grand Concert", which is a slightly smaller body - incredibly comfortable to play.
I purchased this guitar from an AGF member several months ago. It was the “one” I was never going to give up but I just acquired a Collings and a Goodall and really need to get some $$ compensation for those purchases. I have been seriously impressed with the balance, full projection, and bass response from this 612. It has tonally opened up over the years and sounds wonderful. Per the previous owner: Less than 6 months ago, in January 2021, this guitar had a neck reset, the first 7 frets replaced, and the fretplane blended. This work was done by licensed Taylor luthier, "Fret King", Mark Kane, in NC. The original tuners have been replaced with the exact same grover tuners. It currently as a “celtic knot” design strap pin from Petros installed. (The original tuners and strap pin will be included in the sale). It has been well-taken care of, but it has been "played" - there are some finish dings and scratches, and some typical fretboard wear. Structurally, the guitar is perfect. There are no issues with the body, bracing, bridge, truss rod, or neck. There was a fishman pickup installed for a while, but all components have been removed, and the new gold end pin is a Taylor replacement. There are no smoke/tobacco odors. -Solid Sitka Spruce top -Solid Maple back and sides -Abalone Soundhole Rosette -"Leaf" fretboard inlay -Ebony fretboard, bridge, and headstock overlay -Original bone nut (1.75") -New TUSQ saddle -25.5 scale length, 20 frets -Venetian cutaway -Grover tuners [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]SD [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Really nice! I just picked up my first Taylor Grand Concert a few weeks ago and I'm digging the small body size! Nice to see these old Taylors still out there being enjoyed.
Good luck with your sale!

Another price drop since I have an offer on Reverb that has to be responded to in less than 5 hours... and I'd rather this 612 go to an AGF member!
Thanks
