Default D17M plus SC13E (plus cash) = D18 Modern Deluxe

Played a smoking D18 Modern Deluxe today. I can't get it out of my head. Man I love the neck. And the sound. That thing is alive.

But I'm not adding another guitar. I was looking to slim down anyway so if I add one, I'm moving two on. Good news is, my friendly local guitar guy will do a partial trade. I'm thinking throw my D17M and SC13E at him.

Leaves me with my beautiful 000-28 and this incredible new D18MD plus the reso, if I do it. I'm thinking that combination of guitars is just perfect for what I'm doing at the minute, between strumming behind some trad leads, DADGADy and other fingerstyle stuff and general picking & strumming.

The only thing I think I might miss is the playability of the SC13E up the neck...but the D18MD has that same asymmetric type carve and that's really drawing me in, so maybe it's about the cut out...

For a D18? I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I am a Martin fan. I own a SC13E. (It is a nice guitar but I don't play it very much. I bought it because I wanted an acoustic/electric.) And I own a D-18 Short Scale. I would make the trade.

Those MD guitars are really sweet, I'd make that swap as well.

One more vote for the trade. The D-18MD is a fine guitar!

My family this morning: what are you doing?
Me on the way to work: just bringing the guitars for a walk.

I need some clarification here. Has the store agreed to anything? If so, how much are they offering on each trade and what is the price of the guitar. Before everyone says ''yes, lets's do it'', let's see what kind of deal we are talking about.

It's done.

By God this D18 Modern Deluxe is incredible. You feel it when you play it, literally, it growls and hums against your body. It sounds stunning and plays so beautifully. Feather light.

I'm so happy.

Not even going to hint at the cost to change. American friends, you would laugh or cry to hear what a good guitar goes for over here. I don't care. Worth every cent to me.
