What's the Oldest Guitar Pedals you own?
What are the oldest guitar pedals you own? Did you buy it new? Used? Gift?
Include the oldest one you ever had even if you got rid of it. Some older pedals are commanding some money these days, especially a Klon. |

I have my original trio of pedals from the early 80s: a Thomas Organ wah, a red/black Big Muff and a AC-only EH Clone Theory. I bought them new when they were just affordable pedals.
The oldest pedal on the my current pedal board is my original model "red-letter" Janglebox compressor that's about 15 years old. I never got into small-batch boutique pedals, so I doubt anything I have is that much of a collector's item. Let me know if I'm wrong

The oldest I know that I have are an original Big Muff Pi and a Morley Power Wah. I bought both of those used sometime in the late '70s, so they are pretty old by now. Another old one is a Boss CE-2 chorus from the early '80s that I used extensively back then. Overused is probably closer to the truth - hey, it was the '80s; half the hit tunes had a chorus on them.

Original Sam Ash Fuzzz Boxx from 1967 (bought new, still w/papers in original box in near-mint condition) and a '50s DeArmond volume/tone pedal (bought as NOS from a mom-&-pop store in Pennsylvania in the early-90's)...

The oldest thing on my board right now and, oddly enough, the only pedal that's never been replaced is a Retro-Sonic Phaser, probably ten years old. |

Okay I removed the guitars because I read the original post wrong. I don't have that many old pedals, although I do have two original white face Rat pedals from the late 70's.
and a series of vintage 18 Volt DOD pedals, I have the 585 Delay, 575 Flanger, and 525 Compressor, along with the powered pedal board! Last edited by rockabilly69; 06-24-2021 at 08:19 PM. |

My earliest pedal is a Small Stone phaser from Electro-Harmonics, which I purchased in 1978. It looks like this except it has no marks on it. Mine is in really pristine condition.
I also have some early Boss pedals from about 1978: a compressor, which wasn't all that great, a CE-1 chorus effect, which was quite good, and DS-1, which I still use on occasion. The DS-1 with very light distortion settings works really well for a good lead tone through a Marshall amp. I think it was Joe Satriani that used to use that combination. - Glenn

In 1979 when my college roommate and I were leaving school he gave me his Thomas Organ Co. Crybaby Wah. I also have my pedal board from the period:
Left to right: Electro-Harmonix LPB-2 preamp (rehoused) (1974) Electro-Harmonix Small Stone phase shifter (1976) (above) power supply for the pedals (below) power supply switch and remote footswitches for my Echoplex Ep-3 I still have a 1978 Echoplex Ep-3 in pristine condition: (dealer's pic of my actual unit) Bob

Not technically a pedal but I still use my Zen On Justina digital tuner that I've had since the late 70's. Still works great.

I’ve got a late ‘80s Crybaby - easily the oldest pedal in my modest collection.

I've got a 70's Morley wha that our bass player uses. On my board I still have an 80's Boss CE2 and a DD2 and an 80's Ibenez TS9.
I had to have the DD2 repaired last year as something burned out. |

I still have the case from the MXR Phase 90 I bought in 1974 (the electronics died in the mid '90s).
