Haven't seen one of these around these parts.

It appears to be some species of Monochamus (Longhorn) beetle.

Looks like a type of cricket. I've spent the past few minutes googling that image trying to find which one.

Thanks guys! Figured it was some kind of beetle (They are all edible, apparently.), but as I said, never have seen one before.

Looks like one of two Eucalyptus Longhorn Beetle's. I'm going with the smaller one. Native to Australia, New Guinea.
