Lovely simple melodies and you are really getting a lovely fat and warm tone with the pick, which is very easy on the ear.

I used to play a piece called Huckleberry Hornpipe, and old fiddle tune that Clarence White had recorded (fast..) - you'll be playing Bluegrass next ;-)

If you haven't, have a listen to Ron Block (Alison Krauss and Union Station) - some of the most sublime pick tones I have ever heard.
Thanks very much Peter but I can assure you I won't be playing bluegrass

Some time ago, I came across a fiddle tune called Ashokan Farewell by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason. I had a go at it. Here it is if you want a listen but my playing is nowhere near as good as yours.

Just noticed that although AGF has many American members, I am ‘just down the road’ from you in Ross-on-Wye.
Thanks very much Colin.

Nice Phil. I may have to dust off a Fender medium one of these days

Thanks Barry. I've found it very difficult and feel like I'm fumbling about and going to drop the pick at any moment

That was great Phil. I purchased the same Homespun course a couple of months ago and I just started working on Whiskey Before Breakfast. It's kind of tricky on the back half of the arrangement.

I agree with the pick feeling awkward and slow when nearly all I play now is fingerstyle.

Thanks Bob. I agree, the back half definitely is the trickier part

I am an idiot!! I have just accidentally deleted my video of Whiskey Before Breakfast on YouTube. I have uploaded it again and restored the link in the original post. It was obviously a mistake and was doing quite well (for me!!) in the watch numbers and had some lovely comments.

Strange this because I feel gutted so be warned by my mistake
