Talking I've been a very bad boy...

Got this in the mail yesterday. Apparently I've been bad, very bad. My wife, friends, and neighbors are gonna find out if I don't drop $9,200 in Bitcoin (my favorite part) into this fine feller's account.

Gotta say I'm impressed with the lack of the usual grammatical errors, and I've never been spammed in snail mail before. The back side goes into excruciating detail about how to set up a Bitcoin account and pay this character. Great stuff. You gotta hand it to 'em, they're stepping up their game!

My extortionist said he had video of me er, um, enjoying certain websites as he had "assumed command of my computer". I don't have a camera on any of them. What he did have was a password from a hacked World of Warcraft account, long ago abandoned. This scam is going around the nation from what our local police have said.

https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/c...complaint.aspx

It's a lot harder to mail things anonymously now that most mail is photographed upon entering the USPS system.

Report it to your local postmaster. And local media outlets. If you got one, there's a whole lot more in circulation.

But Dirk, aren't you afraid of your secret getting out and ruining your life?

$9,200 seems like a bargain (for the first installment, anyway).

I can offer you a much better deal. I'll not report you for far less than that! In fact I'll not tell your wife if you'll just put me a nice new M-36 in the mail before close of business today. Text me at BR-549 and I'll give you my mailing address!

This was my ex-girlfriend's assessment as well. Not sure it was wise letting her in on it...

Agreed! report it!

However, if you could reply and wanted to be creative, you might respond by letting him know: "Hey BT38, I'm a practicing polygamist", so which wife are we talking about?

It is possible that the printer left marks that may help identify who printed it.

Couldn't take any chances, I sent my check straight to them at N.P.D.A.

Interesting! I did a little behind the scenes checking. It's from your fourth wife. She wants to commission a new Howard Klepper Style A. She has good tastes!
