Very happy in Northern California. Not going anywhere.

If I had to be somewhere else, I'll say Switzerland. All the skiing and mountain biking I could ever want and a short train ride to my family in Belgium.

Do you have any spruce ?
Yeah , Idaho is chocked full of places like yours .
I guess that I will always prefer our mountains here , in the East .
Enjoy !

I've often thought that it would be great to spend 1/3 of the year (summer) on Mt. Desert Island, Maine, 1/3 (winter) on Sanibel Island, Florida and the other third traveling....

FYI much the same aspect that keeps you from relocating to Oz is driving us to get out of NYC/NYS ASAP...

BTW we might be headed down your way when the time comes; had the Lititz-Manheim area in our sights since Strasburg unfortunately went full-boogie tourist a couple years ago: not too rural, close enough to Center City for shopping/healthcare/nightlife and a Barnstormers game or two, Maple Grove and Beaver Springs are about an hour's drive when I need my nitro fix, and I can get my Nissley right at the source - just hope Lititz doesn't go all boutique based on what we saw last trip...

Couldn’t agree more! Merry olde England and New England have an awful lot in common. In fact, there’s a prep school in Avon (CT) which pretty much is a duplicate of any number of places in the Cotswolds.

I will say, though, that an imperial pint of ale has it all over the wimpy US pint of ale. It’s simply “the right size”.

Like OP I live in Texas. If I HAD to move, my first choice would be the USA! (sorry a little Texas humor ) I have spent a fair amount of time in Canada and believe that would be simplest for me and the wife. I’m sure some other places would work just fine as well, but the move would be more challenging.

I live in Iowa and if were to move out of the states, which I've thought about often, Canada, Netherlands, Mexico or the Caribbean.
