Default For Your TV Viewing Pleasure

Watching a few new series/seasons some of you may like.

Yellowstone- Paramount Channel series dealing with the challenges faced by the owner of a large family ranch in Montana. Stars Kevin Costner as the patriarch, co-stars include maybe the most stunning actress in film/Tv today, Kelly Reilly. Good stories and acting, worth seeing.

Condor - Remake of the book/film "Three Days of the Condor" on Audience Network. Updated version of the tale originally starring Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway. Pretty good thriller.

Preacher - Second season of the AMC series. This is a love it or hate it deal. Stars Dominic Cooper and the actress I have a big crush on, Ruth Negga.
It would be described as an action/supernatural/drama/comedy. If your tastes run outside the mainstream, check this one out.

Thanks for the heads up.

Yellowstone looks interesting and perhaps somewhat reflects my general neighborhood and world for the last 38 years. (if a bit Hollywood -ized)
Looks like I might be able to view it on Amazon Prime

Surprising. I thought "Yellowstone" was a thinly disguised bio-pic based on your life.

This week was good. They had a ranch hand causing trouble so he was fired. Costner said to "Take him to the train station". The "train station" turned out to be a gulch in the middle of nowhere where the unruly cowboy was shot in the head and dumped.

Any of that sound familiar?

Ha! not sure my 16.75 acres qualifies as a "Ranch"

Sounds extreme ( as I said Hollywood ) there was a Sheriff in Rock Springs in the 60's and 70's that was rumored to have made a few enemies disappear.

But in case any may not "get" your first sentence and your quick humor , here is an old photo from about 84 or so

Yeah, ranch in the series is a little bigger. They describe it as slightly larger than Rhode Island.

One of my sister's associates owns a ranch in Texas. They have multiple airstrips on the property because it takes too long to drive from one part to the other.

Do you know the Lazy R(?) outside of Sheridan?

No don't know it off hand . Know of a few ranches and a few ranchers ( Couple thousand acre's no gigantic ones) but more west slope, in N.W. Wyoming.

We are watching "Yellowstone", and enjoying it very much.

But we had to go back and watch the first episode an additional 2 times to figure out who is who in the Dutton family. Finally figured out who the third brother was.

Also unclear was Casey's wife's brother. And why Jimmy got branded wasn't clear either.

If it takes 3 viewings to get the cast of characters straight, then the writers and editors haven't done a very good job.

But we're past that now and enjoying it. I've always been a big Costner fan.

Preacher is seriously quirky... Personally, I love that sort of thing. We have god in a dog costume, the devil making deals with a supernatural cowboy/hitman, and a New Orleans witch/sorceress who runs an underground fighting club.

Oh, and the Preacher’s best bud is a vampire...Scottish.

It's the third season of Preacher... good show.

If you have HBO, Sharp Objects is good so far.
