I like that one.
Another similar quote from Frank Lloyd Wright: (actually it was Goethe, but Wright used it often)

"Architecture is frozen music"

Joni Mitchell said something along those lines on one of her live albums (Miles of Aisles?) She said music was art you recreate on stage for people to experience, but nobody can ask (Picasso, Van Gogh, or some famous artist) to paint his (famous painting) again for us. l

That's a good quote.

Resonates with the Frank Zappa quote "Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid."

I always liked the Joni Mitchell quote above in the thread too too.

Music is funny art isn't it. On one hand it's very abstract: nothing physical is created though there are these somewhat diffuse emotions it invokes -- and yet even the quietest parts are touching us on a tiny sensitive piece of skin inside us and the loudest parts vibrates our belly and chest.

This is probably why we go deaf as we get old. Mother Nature taking pity on us.

By the same token, when your close vision goes, your wife doesn't have any wrinkles when you kiss her.
