I have a bit of experience in the studio from four projects and some minimal collaborations.

My biggest suggestion is - be prepared, or as prepared as you can. If you have a chance, rehearse with your partner with particular attention to things like "taking it from the second verse" and the like.
For prewar blues songs, I really, really don't think you should put a click on it - especially if it would be your first time recording to a click, anyways.
You say you have a lot of stage experience and from my POV you want to record a genuine and relaxed rendition of what your duo can do, not a restrained and tip-toeing "let's not screw it up" version.

All that said, recording can be fun if a bit nerve-wrecking. Good luck to you, and don't forget to enjoy it!

That pretty much sums it up. The only thing I would add is to keep everyone not directly involved with your recording out of the studio. Bring someone who isn't just once and you'll understand what I'm talking about.

Thanks again for all the tips. We have practiced the songs many times over and have performed them live many times as well. A click track is out and I am leaning towards recording together in the same room (me and my partner). I think we need to do what we do best and record that. We are not bringing anyone with us. Any other tips would be much appreciated.

Hey checked out your sight very cool and with the other part of the sight in mind, I agree. So I thought I'd throw in this pic from the wilds of Wyoming!

Very cool cars and an excellent choice of colors. Are they both yours? Mine is now seven years (and about fifteen days) old and I'm still loving it.

Thanks the Clubman S is a 2009 its ours (my wife and I) and was a special order situation like you describe on the sight. The Cooper is a 2006 and is my sons, bought used. WE all three love them. We've already put 12k on the Clubman including a trip to So Cal for the Home Recording Boot Camp which was a great experience BTW. Kev

I've seen lots of transitional threads, but going from recording tips to Coopers takes the cake.

Opps sorry OK back on topic :
Ahh yes recording in the studio for the first time, can be intimidating so the key is to try and relax. Really
