Default -SOLD- McPherson 3.5XP Macassar Ebony / Carpathian Red Spruce

Hi everyone,

I'm offering for sale a 2008 McPherson 3.5XP, in Macassar Ebony and Carpathian Red Spruce. This is a spectacular wood combination in both beauty and sound.

Specs:
-44mm nut (1.73")
-55mm string spacing (2.17")
-25.5" scale length

McPherson guitars incorporate a number of unique and innovative designs and are engineered for resonance and sustain. Most notably the bracing designs (check out stock photo below), the soundhole shape (larger, for the XP model) and placement, and the cantilevered neck that keeps the top free to vibrate. This one also has a pickup, LR Baggs. Active with volume control in the soundhole.

It's overall in very good condition for eleven years, and has been both well-played and well-looked after. The pictured ding in the binding, and the mark on the headstock are the most prominent bumps. Another slight mark or so if you look for one, but it's very clean. It's only visible in bright reflective light, but there's a slight "orange peel" kind of effect on the back towards the butt of the guitar, where I would guess it reacted with the case; the previous owner did not play the guitar too much. To me it's not apparent unless you're looking for it. It was hard to photograph but I noticed it so I wanted to mention it.

More pictures are here.

The guitar ships in the original form-fitted Ameritage case, which also has a built in humidification compartment. It shows slight wear but is working solidly.

I called McPherson about the guitar, and they told me that they may now have difficulty sourcing the spruce, but if they could it would be a $14,000 build today.

-SOLD-

Mostly looking to sell, but I'm always curious about guitars, especially nylon-strings!

Thanks for looking and any questions please let me know.

Bumping up with a price reduction -SOLD-. Open to offers, as I've spotted a nylon string I'm interested in. Someone will LOVE this Mcpherson!
