Good pics and beautiful guitar. Did you try out any 00-15s before you got yours?

I did not, I was actually pretty lucky to find this one in person to try out...I think everybody and his brother in Chicago bought a Martin during the pandemic...supplies are low.

The one thing I was pretty much settled on a was the 000 size. Very comfortable to me, and still enough volume to jam with others.

Thanks Glenn!

I updated the OP with a more general purpose demo, no talking, just playing. This type of video would have helped me, so maybe it'll help someone else too.

Thanks for the reply. I like your tone on your 000-15 and waves on the Mahogany. I have to have one but still need to play both to be sure if the 00-15 will do. Just got my '67 LG-0 set up so using that as a litmus to compare other small Hog bodies too. I already know it doesn't sound as full as the Martin 00-15 but it's no slouch.

I was just playing one of these today, and they are great. Yours sounds wonderful here. I very much enjoyed your playing, and watched several of your other YouTube videos as well. Really lovely, all around.

Played one of these for the first time the other day. I'm not normaly a Martin guy, I mean I like how they sound when others play them, I just never seem to connect with them when I play them... anyhow, that 000-15 "Streetmaster" I played was fantastic, just blew away every other guitar in the shop. Guy at the shop said that they'd had a half dozen of them through there and they all sounded like that... might need to get myself a birthday present.

Gdjjr, definitely don't let my assessment of the 000'17 sway you. It was really more of a "im going to need to hear this in person" kind of situation for my ears...I also kept noticing that the 000-15s i heard in online videos sounded great...and I'm very old school/cautious about buying acoustics, so I pretty much need to play in person before I'd consider buying. This one had old dead strings and STILL sounded lively against my chest, so I knew it was meant to be.

I didn't- as in, I ordered the whiskey burst Monday (they didn't have a Smoke) it should be here Friday

Update, tried the Monels, about 10 hours of play in, and definitely, these are the "correct" strings.

Yes, I concur- I like them on my 00015M- on the 00017 not so much though.

I love them on my 000-15m too. Every once in awhile I string it up with phosphor bronze and it sounds great - then I go back to the Monels and remember why I love them on the little mahogany guy.

Wonderful playing, btw! You sound great!
