Beautiful guitar! Congratulations on the new acquisition. I have purchased from Sweetwater several times, and they have never let me down. As a bonus, they throw in candy for the kids!
Cheers!

Beautiful guitar! I have the IBG version of the Epiphone J200 and it really is special. Congrats on a great new guitar!

I would be interested to know what core material Epiphone is using for its maple laminate? If it is a 3 layer plywood of all maple, then it would be the same as the early Gibson guitars and some of the banner year LG-2s.

I'm waiting for Epiphone to come out with an LG-2 but, if they did, I expect it would be some sort of mahogany b/s. Whereas, they could build one with maple plywood b/s and not have any cross-over with the present Gibson output - and actually be spot on some of the nicest sounding ones made!

This guitar is really incredible. Sounds better than my Gibson G 45 which was double the price. The guitar looks great too. You guys should get one!

Update - I now think the G-45 sounds much better!

If I didn't already own these two I would certainly take your advice, I think it looks fantastic!

I still think you should get one! It’s seriously one of the nicest looking and sounding guitars I have ever played! And at only $500 it’s a real steal!

Just wanted to give an update. I have owned this guitar for a few weeks now, and it really is great! I get lots of compliments on it from other musicians. It looks (in my opinion) better than the Gibson SJ-200s because I like the orange color of this Epiphone J-200. I don't have any acoustic guitars that color, so it's a nice addition to my collection.

This cherry color Epiphone J-200 is a Sweetwater Exclusive, so you won't find it anywhere else. Sweetwater has been an excellent company to order from!

Here's a pic from Sweetwater of the actual guitar I purchased. It's beautiful!

I've been looking at both the Inspired by Gibson J200 and this sweetwater exclusive that I found out about last week. To the OP who has it or if anyone else happens to know, how do they compare sound wise?

I was able to play the IBG model in a store, and kicked myself later on for not pulling the trigger. I just wish I had some videos where I could hear the sweetwater version to compare -- so many out there of the IBG 200 now.

That looks like a lot of guitar for $500. Congrats, enjoy, and agree you can't beat Sweetwater for excellent service and quality on their set-ups!

Default Epi Sweetwater J-200

Congrats on your recent acquisition. Beautiful guitar. I see that particular Sweetwater exclusive has ended. I very well may have purchased one if not for recently acquiring a Guild F-250e. As someone else noted, I would like to see a head to head comparison between the Sweetwater Epi J-200 and the Guild-250e. Best regards to all.

Wow, I had been just looking at these in the last week and had no idea there was a limited window for them. Kind of mad...they missed out on a sale from me.
