The SC-28E is quite similar in play and feel to the SC-13E, for obvious reasons. The neck shape is still the same spiral 'Velocity' neck shape, which is asymmetrical, making it easier to play open chords closer to the nut, and thins out on the lower side when playing closer to the neck/body joint. It plays a lot more like my electrics in that regard, and I absolutely love it. Both have nice, low action, and the higher fret access is just unmatchable by any current acoustic on the market, due to that crazy neck joint. The SC-13E does play a bit 'twangier' I think - hard to express, but I think because it uses lighter strings (11's are stock on the SC-13E), it sounds a bit brighter than the SC-28E. The solid woods make the SC-28E sound more present in the midrange tones, and definitely gives it a fuller all around acoustic sound, when compared to my SC-13E. I've only had it a few days, of course, so I'm sure if there are surprises, I'll discover them in the coming weeks. The SC-28E is a few ounces heavier than my SC-13E. I do like the binding better - it's more traditional in look. The fret finishing is a little better on the SC-28E - the fret ends are a little more rounded, and the action is slightly lower on my SC-28e from the factory. Absolutely no buzz anywhere on the SC-28E's neck, and it plays just beautifully. That's it for now. I'll have to play it more in the coming weeks to see if I notice any more differences... Cheers. Sixteen posts and nobody has mentioned the chair yet?
You guys are slipping! It would be grand to play THAT guitar while sitting in THAT chair!

Just kidding! My mom had a Costco knock-off which was really comfortable. I'm sitting in a Herman Miller Aeron chair right now. Love it.

https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/her...-costco-245269 So, it's possible your mom's was authentic. I got mine during an annual 20% off sale combined with a free shipping promotion from Design Within Reach. I do wish it was a nice lounge for playing guitar. Ikea actually does make a lounge chair that might be better for playing: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/havberg...rown-50531657/ |

Terrific looking guitar. I like that they made Standard series models.
