+ 1! Also with modified criteria, David Flammang could possibly fit into this category.

So if you live the States, you don't have to pay that additional 20%, which makes her base price 3,840 British Pounds or just at $5,000 US dollars. That's why I included her on the list. Of course, you would have to pay probably $200 or so to have the guitar shipped to the States, so there's that expense to calculate, as well.
Gotcha, I just saw the base of 4800 and converted that, sounds like you are correct, but just to add to that, I just got a guitar from Europe and not only do you have the shipping costs, you have to pay duties which for me were about $375 bucks or a little more added to the top of the shipping. Just another factor to think about.

Smile Lots to choose from!

What a list, and more to come no doubt. Enjoy the search...

There is a constant parade of guitar riches FS in the classifieds here. I lucked into my first John Kinnaird when Mike/Woody had it up FS there about five years ago.

Since then I have had him build me 5 more... need I say more about my recommendation? Hahahaha

And now Mike has the original one back again!

Cheers

Paul

Keep in mind, the base price includes old growth Brazilian rosewood, if your tastes were more pedestrian, it would be worth asking him about pricing. He builds great guitars!

According to his site, his cheapest is $6500. Most are substantially more. But that's not so bad as it sounds as he seems to only use Brazilian B&S.

A few more that come to mind: Aaron Foster (Queen City Guitars), Jeremy Hamm (Hamm-Tone Guitars), Bill Kraus (Kraus Guitars). Many accomplished names on this expanding list. I don't really think you could go wrong ordering a guitar from any of the luthiers mentioned, provided their style suits your style.

As noted above - much closer to the 5k mark if you decide you want something less exotic than Braz.

Default Burner Guitars

I picked up one from a trade here on the AGF, I’ve had it now since about May.
So a sample size of 1.
It was built with a Manzer wedge body, with Sinker Redwood/ Cocobolo B&S.
They did very nice work. The guitar plays and sounds great to me.
I think they are very reasonably priced, and for a Manzer wedge- Which I don’t see many examples of for less than 5 or 6K.

Andrew does a great job and his base price is well below 5k

I just got a custom madsen guitar finished and it is top notch in every way. I should get some pics together and post them.

He also made me a ukelele

Definitely knows what he’s doing, and a nice guy to boot.

Enjoy the search!
